I know thats probably quite a controversial statement considering who will be reading this the lovers of corrugate pallets the manufacturers, the operators, the handlers. The die-hard fans of corrugate.
But before you judge me for the above statement or call me self-absorbed, let me explain what I mean
Corrugate is great in the right circumstance for outer cartons, for product packaging, for FSDU building. It does the job and it does it extremely well. But theres times where I believe theres a better option, but Ill tell you about that in a moment
The reason that I am most frustrated with corrugate isnt because of what it is its not the concept of corrugate that I dislike in fact Im very fond of the concept. You can save money, clean up your supply-chain hygiene, reduce damages and injuries benefits that surely no one can turn a blind eye to or deny.
Its all down to mis-association of the word. Time and time again we hear the PALLITE® product range referred to as corrugate, and we can completely understand why. A PALLITE®, upon first inspection looks very much like corrugate, and the term cardboard pallet is the first thing that springs to mind its how our brains recognise it as a familiar thing.
But if you look a little closer, youll see that its not corrugate at all.
The physics behind it is completely different. The boards are made from a honeycomb cell paper product, laminated together between more paper, and all held together with glue. Paper and glue thats it.
No fluting. No double walls.
And theres a very good reason for it. When making products like those in the PALLITE® range, including pallets, collapsible pallet boxes, layer boards and insulated pallet boxes, honeycomb board is much much stronger.
Last month you may have seen an article called PALLITE®: Redefining the pallet it talked about how theres a new type of pallet in town.
Because we are not wood. We are not plastic nor metal nor presswood. And we are not corrugate.
We are PALLITE® an entirely different type of pallet and box all together.
A paper pallet.
